Mos Def - Mathematics

It would be easy to pick on the likes of 50 or Lil' Wayne all the time. But for my first trick, I would like to show that not even the mighty Mos Def is immune to my pedantry. Mathematics is, on the whole, a track with very intelligent lyrics. However, I take issue with Mos' thoughts on information storage. The lyrics in question:

"The system break man, child and women into figures
Two columns for who is, and who ain't n*ggas"

What Mos is speculating here is that the U.S. government, in their large databases on the country's population, include two columns displaying this racial information. However, had he given this line a few minutes of extra thought, he would have realised that in the way he is describing it, the variable in question is binary. Thus, only one column is required:

Mos' imagining of the system

A more likely representation

He ends the first verse with "You wanna learn how to rhyme, you better learn how to add". This is true, Mos, but you would also do well to learn some rudimentary data handling skills.

I feel I should explain myself

I haven't written anything for a while, and I'm occasionally very bored, so this should keep me occupied. And I figure it's something that I can keep updating fairly often without having to spend too much time on it. Plus there's plenty of potential material, cos as much as I love rap, it's pretty damn ridiculous.
